My name is Luke. I’m married to an amazing, creative woman by the name of Lindsay. We have two dogs – a goldendoodle and a mini-labradoodle who are also pretty fantastic. A common question people ask is, what do you do? I think a far better question is, what interests you? It’s open-ended and typically leads to far more interesting responses. While I’m interested in many things, many of them roll up into three categories:
- Learning – I recently graduated with an MBA, putting a cap on the 20+ years of my life I’ve spent in some type of formalized education setting. Through these traditional settings, I was able to learn some foundational skills. However, what I am most excited about is all the things I have yet to learn. This is part of what motivated me to pursue this endeavor and is a nice segue into the next point.
- Creating and Growing – There is a unique sense of fulfillment that comes from creating something and putting it out for the world to see. I believe that each of us has something special that we bring to the table, and we have an obligation to maximize the positive impact that we have on the world in which we live. Unfortunately, much of what we learn growing up teaches us how to follow directions and memorize answers – not how to create new paths. This is probably a topic for another time (maybe a future blog post.) I’ll just end with this. Try to imagine what your life might look like if you decided to not follow the script that others have written for you.
- Storytelling – Simply put, stories move people. The greatest leaders and the biggest movements all had great stories. I’m passionate about learning more of this art and skill set so I can create movies that tell the best stories. I’d love to know more about you and your story and see if we can create something special together.
